Brand new video from DJI on the new Phantom 2 highlighting the complete unboxing and setup. What I love about this new generation of Phantom's is that they seem to be quite photographer centric. Absolutely no fooling around with settings and tweaking this or that, Just mount the camera and focus on creating.
Check out amazing new UAV called the GimBALL that mimics the flying patterns of an insect and could be used to bring cameras in places where people may not be able to go. Search and rescue or archaeological exploration could be just a couple of applications for this amazing new device.

This weeks VOTH (Video of the week) is from Director/Producer Nicholas Dolinger. Not only is this work incredibly done but I give the guy props for shooting the scenes in New York City without any trouble from the NYPD. Great work Nicholas.
In addition make sure you check out their YouTube channel for more amazing footage.
Watch this great video of Russell Brown showing how to take some amazing aerial panoramas using the DJI Phantom Vision 2.
The Weeks Aerial artist is a photographer and Adobe senior creative director Russell Brown. These beautiful Panorama landscape images were taken using the DJI Phantom vision 2. With some correction and stitching in Photoshop the wide angle of this camera is ideal for this type of expansive landscape photo. I really believe that as the quality of these cameras get better so will their ability to shoot not only video but still images as well. What I would like to see soon is Raw DNG capability in the GoPro. This would open a whole lot of doors for still photographers like myself.
It seems to be evident how much Adobe supports the tidal wave of photographers who are taking to the sky with quadcopters and camera gear. They recently partnered with DJI by doing an aerial photo contest with some great prizes. But the latest and most exciting news is coming from DJI announcing Raw DNG support on their new Phantom Vision 2 Camera. Below is a link to some great content produced by the Adobe Photoshop team on how to edit your aerial photos. Things in the sky are just starting to heat up.
Here is the first Video from DJI on the upcoming Phantom 2. The Phantom 2 comes all ready setup for the DJI H3-2D gimbal and wireless video out put. Here's hoping for a $699 price point.
Here is a review from the financial times of the new Blade 350 QX RTF (Ready To Fly) Quadcopter. This New flyer looks to me to be one of the most user friendly GoPro ready Quadcopters to date. It comes equipped with some pretty interesting new technology to keep both the copter and pilot safe thus adding to the level of fun.
Wether you own a high end drone carrying a Red Epic rig or a blade nano quadcopter this next story will may provide great security for your future gear. The Institute for Dynamic Systems and Control in Zurich, Switzerland has developed a new algorithm that will protect your quadcopter in the event that it looses one or more of it's propellers. Hopefully this technology will be coming soon to a drone near you.
All I have got to say is that only Chase Jarvis is cool enough to eat a sandwich and fly a drone at the same time.
